Piedmont announced that head men's basketball coach Mark Bollinger has announced his resignation, effective immediately, to pursue other professional opportunities. Piedmont athletic director John Dzik will assume the role of interim head men's basketball coach and is expected to coach the 2013-14 season.

Piedmont cancelled its men's basketball season in December after suspensions, dismissals and injuries left the team too short-handed to continue.

Dzik, who has also served as the interim coach of Piedmont women's basketball team, won 481 games as head coach at Cabrini before being forced out.
