The Baruch College Bearcats edged the Cardinals of York College, 67-63, in yet another CUNYAC contest that was decided in the final minutes of play.

The Bearcats broke open a tie with 3:56 left with a layup by
Mickey Abbatiellofor a 59-57 lead. Chris Beauchampconnected on six free throws over the next three minutes and Calvin Jurewicz-Johnsonsealed the victory with a pair of free throws with five seconds left to even their CUNYAC record at 4-4.

The Bearcats shot 9-of-19 from 3-point range and narrowly won the rebounding battle with a 67-63 advantage. York struggled from long distance as they managed to connect on only 4-of-20 attempts from 3-point range.

Beauchamp led the Bearcats this evening with 27 points.
Fuat Yaparand Abbatiello scored nine points each. Rob Goldsteinfinished with eight points and four assists.

William Holley led the Cardinals (3-4 CUNYAC) with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Baruch will return to action on Friday, February 3, at 5:00 pm, with another important CUNYAC road contest against the Lightning of Lehman College.  Please note this Lehman home game will be played at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.
