HOW IT HAPPENED
-Despite being conference opponents, Sunday's matinee counted as a regular season contest, but they will not count in the league standings.

-With Sewanee not playing in two weeks and Oglethorpe in almost a month, both teams had to shake cobwebs off early in the contest. At the 10:09 mark, the teams were deadlocked at 11 points each.

-The Petrels, after the under-12 media timeout, went on an 11-2 in a little over two minutes to push the lead to a 22-13 score with under eight minutes left in the period.

-Despite the Tigers' effort to stage a comeback, the visitors recorded a 12-point halftime lead, 44-32.

-OU pushed the lead to a game-high 16 points, 58-42, with less than 15 minutes left in the contest, but Sewanee began chipping away at the deficit. Colin Kahl made a layup from a Joey Knox pass to cut the margin to single digits, 66-57, with 7:57 left.

-The Purple and White made it a one-possession game, 73-70, at the final media timeout of the game. However, Carlos Sone made the next six points that gave OU the 79-70 advantage with 2:26 left. Eventually, it would ultimately seal the contest.
