Penn State Harrisburg Routs Abington to Win 10th Straight

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team extended its program-record win streak to 10 games with a decisive 89-44 victory over United East counterpart Penn State Abington at the Capital Union Building on Saturday night, Jan. 15.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (13-1, 6-0 United East) continued with a 45-point drubbing of conference foe Penn State Abington (7-5, 1-2 United East) on Saturday night. Donyae Baylor-CarrollNate Curry, and Chris Haynes each netted a team-high 12 points, while Brandon Coleman added 11 of his own.

 

The visitors scored the game's first bucket; a 3-pointer from Isaac Kennon at the 19:18 mark before teammate Brian Randolph III converted a layup little more than a minute later.

 

They were the last points Penn State Abington scored for more than 15 minutes.

 

The hometown Lions put together an unprecedented 37-0 run that began with a Coleman trifecta at the 17:19 mark and ended with a Dylan Daniels layup off a Baylor-Carroll find with 4:04 remaining before halftime.

 

Penn State Harrisburg stretched a 30-point lead at the break to as many 48 late in the second half when Haynes knocked down his fourth triple of the contest with 4:08 left to play. Lance Douglas netted the team's final six points to cap off the team's largest win of the season.

Zegary Scott III finished with nine points, seven assists, and three boards.

Pedro Rodriguez came through with nine points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals off the bench.

Dylan Daniels had eight points, seven blocks, and five boards.

Malik Holland and Lance Douglas added six points apiece off the bench.

- Kolby Miller scored a team-high nine points for Penn State Abington.
